There are pre-drilled holes for anchoring in the bottom transition plate and hardware is provided for drilling into a wood surface.

  • I need this to accommodate a 1” rise but this mat only comes in 1.5” and 2.5” heights, what should I do?

We suggest purchasing a 1.5” and cutting the mat down to the size you need or using one of our other TRANSITIONS threshold ramps such as a 1” TRANSITIONS Modular Entry Ramp.

  • Is the edge that butts up to the threshold straight or beveled as well?

The edge is straight (no bevel) and perpendicular to the ground. Only the sides of the mat are beveled.

  • Can this be used with a sliding glass door?

Yes, this mat is perfect for sliding glass doors because it doesn’t interfere with the track. Put one mat on the inside of the door and one on the outside to help eliminate the trip hazard the door track can present. The mat is made to withstand weather conditions of all sorts so it can be used both indoors and outdoors.

  • How thin do these mats taper to at the bottom?

The mat tapers to approximately .125”.

  • Can this be used for entering a stand up shower. Will it hold up to water?

  • Does this product require assembly?

Yes, the sections slide together and are secured in place by provided screws.

  • Does the ramp butt up to the opening or is there a lip that sits on top of the door track?

The ramp can do either or. There is a top pivoting flap that provides an additional .25” of adjustability and can be slid in or kept out. If in, the ramp would be set against the door threshold and the flap would rest on top of it. If the flap is kept out, the ramp would butt up against the door threshold and wouldn’t interfere with door styles such as a sliding glass door with a track.

  • My door threshold is 3.5" high. Should I order a 3" or 4" ramp?

Because this is in between sizes, consider purchasing a TRANSITIONS® Angled Entry Ramp, which is also made of aluminum and has adjustable feet to meet your threshold rise requirements.

  • How do I keep the ramp from moving around?

Pre-drilled holes are available for anchoring at both the top and bottom of the ramp. Anchoring hardware is not provided.

  • How do I make this mat taller than 2.5”?

If you use a single TRANSITIONS® Modular Entry Mat, you can accommodate thresholds up to 2.5” high. You can accommodate rises up to 4.75” high by combining one mat with a set of risers and a second mat.

  • How do I stack the rubber threshold mats with the risers?

  • Can these rubber mats be cut to fit my entrance?

Yes, they can be cut down to size or notched if needed to accommodate obstacles such as door trim.

  • What do you suggest I use for trimming the mat?

We recommend using a reciprocating saw, razor knife, or hand saw.

  • Should the mat be secured to the surface it is on?

The rubber threshold mat is fairly heavy by nature; however, we do recommend securing it in place to ensure lack of movement. Hardware is supplied for securing the mat to a wood or concrete surface.

  • Is there assembly required?

The plate is a simple, one-piece design with no assembly required.

  • What is the ideal application?

A fairly small threshold that needs to be converted into a smooth surface to ease the transition through the doorway.
