Step-by-Step Guide for Ordering Entryway Access Solution

At EZ-ACCESS, we know that every house and family is different.

That’s why we offer multiple outdoor access solutions for the home.

From portable ramps to home access lifts, all of our solutions are sturdy, durable, and safe so finding the right solution is less about the product features and more about what you need. Read through this step-by-step guide to determine which entryway access solution will be best for your family and how to order it.

PATHWAY 3G Ramp as an entrance to a brick house

Determine Location Needs

What obstacles make it difficult to enter and exit the home? We typically see three different barriers that can make access into and out of the home difficult.

The path from the driveway to the entryway is not smooth and easy to maneuver

There is a ledge to the front entrance

A set of stairs leads to the front entrance

Figuring out what type of physical barriers you need to overcome will help you determine the appropriate access solution. If the entire path to the entrance of the home makes mobility difficult, a longer ramp like the PATHWAY® 3G that allows you to connect several ramp sections together, would be great to put in place. If there is a ledge that is causing some difficulties, a shorter ramp like the GATEWAY™ 3G may be a perfect fix! If there is a set of stairs right outside the entrance, a home access lift could be installed to help eliminate this difficult-to-navigate area.

Determine Physical Needs

What type of assistant does your family member with limited mobility need? Typically, we’ll ask a customer two questions regarding physical needs:

What type of assistive mobility equipment do you or your family member use?

Is their limited mobility temporary or permanent?

If the individual will only be using assistive equipment for a short period of time, after a major surgery for example, then a temporary option is your best bet. These include portable ramps and semi-permanent ramps that can easily be set up when needed and stored away when not in use.

If the individual has a long-term need for assistive equipment, then a more permanent solution is likely the best fit for the home. Our long-term solutions include home access lifts and semi-permanent ramps that are installed in a location best fit for the user for their continual, everyday use.
