Sometimes selecting the right one can seem a little overwhelming. With so many options to choose from, how do you know which is best for you and for your home? Today we are comparing two of our most versatile and popular aluminum threshold ramp options to help with your decision.
TRANSITIONS® Angled Entry Ramp
With 3 different sizes available, this all-aluminum threshold ramp can accommodate rises up to 5.875” high. The ramp’s independently adjustable legs with swivel feet make it unique and allow for vertical adjustment as needed on uneven surfaces.
TRANSITIONS® Modular Entry Ramp
Extending up to 6 ¼” high by simply sliding sections together, this durable modular entry ramp is available in 7 different sizes and features top pivoting flap for ¼” of height adjustability either way to ensure a smooth path through the door.
Both of these ramps serve the same purpose, however one may be more suitable for your home and mobility needs than the other.

Material
Both entry ramps are made out of durable, long-lasting aluminum. This may be a major factor in where you use these entry ramp options. For example, if you are looking for safe entry options for the outside of your home, these ramps will be great as they can withstand weather and will not rot, rust, or deteriorate.
Height Adjustability
One way our entry ramps differ is in their range of height adjustability. Each of the Angled Entry Ramps have a height range that they can accommodate thanks to their two legs that can be adjusted to raise or lower the ramp within a matter of inches. The ease in which you can adjust the height is significant, making this ramp a great solution to be able to match your exact threshold height.
The Modular Entry Ramp has a pivoting flap that attaches to the top of the ramp to provide ¼" of additional adjustability, either up or down. So, although each size doesn’t have as much adjustability at our Angled Entry Ramps, you still have a range to work within.
Application
The ramps have fairly similar applications and uses, however one difference is if you are using the pivoting flap on the Modular Entry Ramp. This can obstruct certain door types such as sliding glass doors. Without the flap, both styles of threshold ramps can pretty well be used on any door type. Also worthy of mention is the swivel feet on the Angled entry Ramps. This assists when setting the threshold ramp on not the most even of surfaces.
Installation
Installation time for the Angled Entry Ramp and the Modular Entry Ramp is very similar. Installing both is incredibly quick and only requires a few simple steps. The Angled Entry Ramp needs legs screwed on and adjusted to the right height and the Modular entry Ramp needs sections slid together and fastened for secure attachment. Once these steps are completed, you can place and secure the ramps in the desired location and they are ready to be used.
Weight
Both the Angled Entry Ramp and the Modular Entry Ramp can handle a large amount of weight. The ramps can handle up to 700 lbs., and they are fairly lightweight making it convenient if you need to move them from one location to another.
Safety
Both the ramps have a built-in, slip-resistant tread for superior traction when walking or using mobility devices to traverse them.
